Celebrity Xpedition Cruise Review by philminn
- Sail Date: January 2017
- Destination: South America
Pros and Cons to our trip.
Nicely packaged with flights and prestay and post stay in Quito. Including their assistance with the checked luggage. They have things down to a science. Very efficient.
Seeing the giant tortoises and all the sea lions and iguanas was really cool.
Quito and Galapagos guides were very good.
Good food. Very confident and friendly staff.
Excellent room steward.
Nice evening briefing before dinner on next days hiking or snorkeling choices.
Poor decision to do slippery rock landing on Fernandina. Four people fell on the wet boulders at the zodiac landing site and got bad cuts on their legs.
One night they lost our dining under the stars reservation.
No place to view the beautiful dark night sky because of all the deck lights. Unless you had a balcony cabin. Could have reserved one night after dinner for a naturalist to dim the lights on the back deck so people could see the amazing dark sky's.
Lack of lectures by naturalists before or after dinner.
We were never asked if we wanted coffee or tea with dessert.
Two of the snorkels, one from a beach, one from a zodiac, were into completely murky waters. They should have checked it out beforehand instead of wasting our time.
Extremely slow internet service, and no working woman e-mail, but we expected that it would be poor.
