We chose this cruise because of the overnight in Amsterdam and the more than reasonable price. We'd been on Azura recently on a re-positioning cruise and had enjoyed it sufficiently to come back. I feel that although we enjoyed many of the experiences the efforts of the staff were nowhere near as impressive on this shorter voyage. Despite this I felt that the trip represented good value for money.
The good
Very happy with the quality and the choice of food in the restaurants
Having booked a DE cabin minimum, that's what we got so no problem there. The cabin is well forward and although the sea was calm throughout there was a fair bit of movement and I would not recommend this cabin in rough weather. Also there was plenty of noise from the corridor late at night and early in the morning and we could clearly hear the ship's P.A from inside the cabin.
The cabin steward was first class, the TV set up disappointing and the fridge didn't work properly. All other things were what you would expect from a 'Superior Deluxe Balcony'.
Ship docks near to city centre. Public transport cheap and reliable. Easy to get to anywhere in Amsterdam area. English spoken everywhere.
P and O shuttle £4 each way. Don't use it! There is a port shuttle that is frequent and cheaper! City centre is walkable but a bit of a concrete jungle. Museum Malraux is across from the cruise terminal and if you like Impressionists visit it.
Worth buying a day ticket for local buses cost 4Euros. We went out to Harfleur (Not Honfleur) a delightful little town to walk around.
