Friend of our have been on the Viking Star and recommended it. The Viking Sea is a sister ship to the Star, so having never been on the ship, we felt at home based on what our friends told us. The food was excellent and the dining venues were diverse enough to be interesting. The ship was very clean and well maintained and our room steward was very helpful. The entire staff was courteous, however, there was one dining experience were the service was extremely poor. It was in their main dining room and when seated, we waited over 20 minutes for any kind of service. In defense of the floor captain, I think he was over whelmed. I hate to dwell on this one bad experience, because overall, everything was great. I have no reservations about recommending Viking to friends, family and anyone who will listen. This was our first Viking Ocean cruise and previously we had been on several river cruises, the Yangtze, Rhone, Rhine and Seine. All great trips.
