We have been on 12 cruises before this, half of them on Princess, but we had never been on a cruise with so many sea days before (10) and were a little worried we'd get bored. We were never bored, but we were relaxed and enriched. We absolutely loved the Hawaiian Ambassadors, Rowena and Brian, and their presentations, hula and ukelele lessons, and warm, friendly attitudes. There was always something to do, or we could just read or explore the ship. The Star was beautiful and the service and food were terrific, as has always been the case for us on Princess.
We had some minor irritations with crowded conditions in the buffet and Piazza areas, and a couple times could not get seats at the theater. The long line to get back to the ship's tenders in Lahaina was unexpected, but part of the problem was rough seas and wind, so the tender trips were limited.
We both really loved our Princess excursions: Vocanoes National Park on Hawaii, Pearl Harbor on Oahu, Grove Farm Homestead on Kaua'i and historical/cultural walking tour in Lahaina, Maui. We had a few exceptional tour guides, we learned a lot, and enjoyed our time ashore.
This is a very adequate standard sized balcony stateroom with no couch or tub. All was as expected and very comfortable. We did have one slight problem with the toilet becoming very slow to flush, but it was fixed after one phone call to passenger services.
