We really wanted to do the Alaska Inside Passage Cruise. We booked Princess as they seem to fit our needs the best. We booked a mini-suite, as we preferred a certain side. If you are considering an Alaska cruise, a balcony is a must, as with the Alaska Cruise, you miss pool-lounging time around the pool, due to cold temperatures. We enjoyed whale-watching from our balcony. With the exception of the excellent food and service at Sabbattinis, we found the anytime dining a bit underwhelming. We often chose the buffet so we could pick and choose our needs. The buffet at breakfast was my favorite. In reading reviews leading up to our cruise, Princess shows were not highly regarded, however, we thought they were most excellent. They do a rendition of the Voice which was very fun. For the most part, staff was also a bit stuffy. Our steward was fine, but some diner staff and customer service staff missed the mark, as it appeared they would rather be doing something else. This included a little 'exchange' with a customer service deskperson about adding an addition water pkg to our room. When we requested to see a Supervisor because his unwillingness to offer a solution, he accused us of making him feel like a cockroach. All in all we really enjoyed the Cruise. The beauty of Alaska added to that. This was our first cruise and perhaps it's a lesson in expectations. We look forward to cruising again, perhaps on a warm weather cruise that offers more things to do on the ship. There were times at sea where I was a bit bored. I also wish the gym opened earlier - 7am is late for me.

Some we really enjoyed, some was ok.
