We recently returned from our first cruise on a Silverseas ship. We booked a Veranda room and were very satisfied. The veranda itself isn't large, but it was sufficient. Our room was nice, especially for a cruise ship. The bathroom was also a good size. Our butler was great. Matter of fact, the whole staff was great - not one person disappointed us. We were very impressed with the food and service. Portions are very small but you can have as many courses as you want - you will not go away hungry. The boat is small so you never feel crowded and we never had to wait on a line. We only went to a show once since we're morning people and shows were starting too late for us. For the one show we did see, we were impressed with the talent. We weren't so impressed with the excursions we took but I believe that was more the fact that the Caribbean, for the most part, is more about the relaxation and beaches than fact-finding, interesting excursions. In addition, I was hoping for some interesting, educational lectures to be offered. There were talks about the islands we were visiting and one cooking demo, but I was hoping for more. I was also impressed that there were several launderettes available for those of us who didn't want to spend the money on having someone on the staff do our laundry - and the machines and detergent were gratis! I didn't go to the gym, but my husband, who goes to a gym on a regular basis was very impressed with the gym. We did not use any spa services because we found the prices to be exhorbitant. We wouldn't hesitate to taken another Silverseas cruise.

Port Reviews

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

We hired a private taxi and paid by the hour. The driver was very knowledgeable and pleasant but there really isn't much available to see. Some history and some pretty views but not worth the cost. The private taxi driving around was no more costly than a sightseeing excursion.
