Having cruised with other cruise lines, this was our first with Royal Caribbean on the Splendour of the Seas. On arrival at the terminal in Gatwick, we were met by a rep, and quickly checked in without any wait. On arrival at Venice we were again met by reps, and although a short walk to the coach, we were quickly on our way to the cruise terminal.

Embarkation was quick and easy and we were on board in no time at all. Our cabin was not available until 1pm, but this was no problem as we had lunch and explored the ship. We were very impressed with the ship.

We had opted for My Time dining, and this worked really well, we got a table each night at the time we requested. The food and service were very good indeed, you would have to be a really fussy eater not to find something on the menu. We ate in Chops Grille one night, although there was a $30 charge for this, the steak, service and atmosphere was well worth it. The food in the King and I and the Windjammer restaurants was of very good quality too, with plenty of choice.

Cabin N

Clean, tidy - it was only used to sleep and change in, so very adequate for our needs. Our cabin steward Helen was a lovely lady and looked after us very well, lovely animals made from towels each night.
