Introduction I have taken 7 cruises since 2006. 5 on Carnival and 1 on Holland American. My latest was on Royal Caribbean's Majesty of the Seas. Compared to Carnival and Holland American, I was somewhat disappointed. Mainly in the food selection in the main dining room.

Main Dining Room Royal Caribbean's food selections were mediocre!! No prime rib, no chateaubriand, no lobster!! A premium steak was an additional $14.95; Carnival provides prime rib, sirloin steak and chateaubriand at no additional charge. Breakfast in the main dining room was slow and arrived lukewarm or worse. Lunch selections were poor. Carnival has the clear advantage here!!!

Buffet Royal Caribbean's Windjammer buffet has slightly better selections of food than Carnival's. Deserts aren't as good as Carnival's. Royal Caribbean has a marginal advantage here!
