We sailed on the 12 April Eastern Caribbean itinerary with Liberty of the Seas. There were 9 people in our group (3 families) including 2 children and a teenager and adults ranging in age from 26 to 55. We all agreed that the ship was spectacular, there were plenty of activities to keep everyone as occupied as they wanted to be and that we had a wonderful cruise experience. We spent a few days in Key West before the cruise and drove back to Miami on the day. The shuttle bus from Alamo to the ship was a bit of a hassle and not very well organized, with a long line of fellow-cruisers trying to get to the port. The shuttle bus driver was quite rude and actually demanded a larger tip than we first gave him!

Embarkation: We arrived the same time as most of the other 4200 passengers - so a long line, but it moved quickly and smoothly. Most of us were travelling on Australian passports - but this didn't seem to hold us up.

The Ship: Very impressive - huge, but easy to navigate. We were all especially impressed with the royal promenade, a great place to wander around, shop or meet up for a pre-dinner drink. The sports areas are especially impressive - with so many choices, the hardest bit was fitting everything in. Nice art work and nice ambiance in many of the public areas. The only time we really felt that we were in a crowd was trying to find a table that very first day for lunch in Windjammers. The H2O waterpark was bright and fun and the kids enjoyed it. They also loved the flowrider, the rock climbing wall, the ice skating and their respective kids' clubs. Dining: We ate at every possible dining venue on the ship - including room service. Yes, both of the specialty restaurants were superb and worth the cover charge, but the food in the main dining room was wonderful too - absolutely no complaints. Pizza, sandwiches, buffet items - all very good. We also enjoyed a burger at Johnny Rockets, although I'm not really sure how they justify a cover charge for just a burger?! The kids found plenty of choices that appealed to them on the regular menus in the dining room - and even tried a few new things.
