Sail Date: Dec 2007

We will never go on another cruise after our experience with the cruise we took in Dec. 2007. What a BIG disappointment. Our trip to New Orleans was horrible. And not any better going back home. The terminal is a nightmare. For older people I feel sorry for all the walking and things they have to go through there. Many of the customs agents were very nice. But there was 2 that were so rude to many people. I am so thankful we didn't get them. But we did see how they treated people, and it was uncalled for. This was a special cruise for us. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and it was also a Memories of Elvis cruise. The show by Steven Davis as Elvis was wonderful. But it wasn't long enough and he had to perform in a lounge in the back, where it was almost impossible to find the show. Also the showtime was a conflict with the dinning time for all. There was 5 buses of people who took this cruise for the Memories of Elvis program and shows. The time he was given was 1 hour and all had to be moved and removed so they could have the Forum lounge for Karaoke. Our room was not clean. We thought having a suite it would of been a lot cleaner. The spots on the carpet were bad. Our toilet didn't flush and when we called about it, we were told to wait until morning. It was 4am when we called. In my book that is morning. Our food was OK. The dining room waiters we had were SUPER. The ship never stopped rocking the whole trip and there was a lot of sick people. Luckily we were not sick. The vibration from the engines or something were horrible. It was almost impossible to sleep. Our excursion to Cozumel was OK. When leaving the ship you have to walk for ever to get off the pier.

And the same to get back to the ship and on. We decided not to use our excursion tickets we reserved for Progresso. We were glad we didn't leave the ship. We heard not one good thing about the excursions other people went on there. Our breakfast was pretty good each morning. The sandwiches were really good. The drinks are to high priced and it is ridiculous to charge $1.75 for a can of pop and $3.50 for a bottle of water. The iced tea and all juices were machine drinks and not freshly made. Our formal night I ordered the lobster and shrimp. My lobster tail was so small and the shrimp were tiny. I can get a bigger and nicer lobster and shrimp dinner at Red Lobster. There wasn't even a blow dryer in the bathroom. The bathroom seemed small for a suite. The suite seemed small and the doors seemed very old. Our private balcony was so small you couldn't turn the 2 chairs to face the ocean. They had to face each other. It was an awfully small balcony too. So many of the crew does not speak English, and that made it hard for many people. The spa was nice what I saw of it. The prices are way out of line in it. We were so excited about this cruise. We had it booked 9 or 10 months in advance. It was such a let down and so depressing with all of it. The ginger bread house that was made and put together while we were on the ship was great. The pictures that are taken were nice, but expensive also.

They had many nice back drops and some were really nice. The lounges were interesting to look at. I do not enjoy having to use a card for everything and no where can money be used. I felt very mislead about the whole trip and cruise. For months I checked the internet about our cruise and to lookat the rooms and all. It was a BIG disappointment in the end. You don't have to worry, because a cruise is not on our agenda ever again. I can do a lot more with my money and have more to show for it.
