To start out this was our 12th cruise with Carnival, so I am only comparing this cruise with our other Carnival cruises. To rate this cruise I am giving it a C -, ( if was not for the great wait staff I would of given it a D ).The ship was nice, but, the entertainment was not good. The main shows I had basically seen before on other ships, but, not as "main shows".( the entertainment was more or less a bunch of tribute games.) The music was horrible. The old karaoke room was now a smoking room which just stunk everything up. The comedians were ok. There was a time when carnival took pride in their cruises, the entertainment was superb, and the music was sensational. We have noticed a sad decline, and then there was this last cruise. ( after the last few cruises I believe those days are gone) . I went to the gym, and the equipment was poorly maintained. I plugged my head phones into a treadmill and the whole control board came out so I went to another one, and it did not work . Out of the 12 spinning bikes, four of them were broken and could not be used. The food was ok. The fish and chip place never seemed to be open when you were on the ship. Twice when in port, they were only open when everyone was off the ship. I am disappointed in Carnival over all, there was a time when they were exceptionally good, now it seems they just don't care as long as they put bodies on the ship. After taking 12 cruises, it is obvious how much we had come to trust in the brand and are so very disappointed by the downturn in quality. I hope that this does some good as we are hesitant to have to change to a different cruise line. We will be considering this possibility in the future, unfortunately.
