I have always loved Costa, going back to the Fredrico C, Carla C, and Flavian. Service was very European and luxurious-we had this 3 years ago on the Costa Serena, so when we decided to go westbound transatlantic we chose the Costa Luminosa for the trip - the itinerary contained 8 ports we never docked at (impressive sine we have over 100+ cruises under our belts.

The ports were interesting but the ship's excursions were VERY EXPENSIVE compared to other Carnival Corporations other lines offerings.

The cruise staff while always trying, was not very understandable in English - and all activities were mostly in Italian unless you asked for some English, and then it was not understandable and very very brief. The cruise director was no where to be found during the day or evening except for his MCing main shows or evening events including the Master of the vessel who was always interacting with his cruisers.

Cabin Review

Mini Suite with Balcony

Cabin MS

Extremely well located midship, 10 feet from main evelators. Cabin was laid out well with sufficient storage. My only concerns were the mat placed in front of the balcony door - it was round and the cabin attendant kept playing it against the bulkhead so that the top of the rug was several inches above the bulkhead, I tripped twice on this; second the cabin accumulated dust very quickly each day despite the attendants trying to keep the cabin dust free.
