Costa Magica offers inexpensive cruises and bargain prices. As a veteran cruiser (35), we hope that first time cruisers do not get turned off to this mode of travel sailing Costa as their introductory experience.

The food in the dining room is adequate but the service is uninspired at best. The breakfast buffet upstairs is satisfactory but the luncheon and dinner buffets are beyond terrible. Thank goodness for pizza. The speciality restaurant is beautiful and the service and food are better than in the dining room but that is hardly a ringing endorsement.

The rooms are fine except the beds are almost too hard to use and the blankets should have been thrown away a long time ago. The beds and bedding need an emergency intervention. The room stewards are wonderful. Our room was very large as was the verandah.
