Sail Date: Mar 2014

We took an eastern Caribbean Cruise using the Norwegian Sun cruising out of and returning to Miami from March 17, 2014 through March 27, 2014. This was our third cruise with NCL and our tenth overall, so we consider ourselves to be rather seasoned cruisers.

Ports visited were The US Virgin Islands, Dominica, Barbados, St Lucia, and St Maarten, all of which were interesting. The three excursions we took were both good value and a lot of fun, and no one can say there isn’t a lot of choice. There were also two sea days at both beginning and end. It was sunny with a few clouds every day, and only a little ship's motion at times, though the breeze was persistent as one generally expects in the Caribbean.

We had cabin 1001, which is on deck 11 forward, in fact, right over the bridge. We therefore had a great view of what was coming, the same you get when you watch the “bow channel” on the ship’s television system. Deck 11 was also the pool deck, but there was little noise to be heard from that or the buffet restaurants next to it. The pool area itself was bigger than on some NCL ships, with a pool dedicated to adults (though not always enforced as such!).

Cabin Review

A superior cabin with a wonderful view forward and a large balcony. See the main review for additional comments. Very little outside noise or other passenger traffic.
