We chose the Breakaway because the ship seemed to be family friendly. Unfortunately the average age was > 60 years. Would not have been a big problem, if there would have been enough room for families. But unfortunately, there were a lot of signs which said 'adults only' but no sign that said 'families only'. Grandma and grandpa occupied each area - even the kids pool and left no room for families who were not able to save a chair at 6am. Some even dared to use the warm baby's pool ignoring that there feet had some disgusting illnesses. Jack!

The food on board was average. If you like American food (pizza, pasta, burgers), you are at the right place. In case you search for high cuisine and variation, you should definitely not book this cruise.

In the complimentary casinos, they serve the same food day by day by day. In the beginning of the cruise, the quality - esp. of fruits - was better than it was in the end. It seemed as if they brought everything from Manhattan and did not buy fresh stuff in the Caribbean (oranges were frozen, water melon was old). Furthermore, they assumed that everybody likes no fat milk and skim milk (and its products); whole milk was available - but only upon request. As said before: very American! The orange juice served was a sugary drink with orange flavor; you need to pay for 'real' orange juice.

Cabin Review

The staterooms were nice. We liked the design and had enough room for 2 adults and a baby. Of course, it is not huge, but we did not expect it to be spacious.
