We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 small children and a nanny. We flew into San Juan the day prior to the departure of our cruise. I had reservations at the Embassy Suites Isla Verde. It was a very nice hotel and very close to the airport. The next morning we walked to a nearby wal-greens to purchase a couple of supplies and then took a taxi to the port. The taxi was about $25.00 one way for our family.

Embarkation was fairly easy. Although I had checked-in online and then they seemed to ask all the same questions and re-enter all the same information again at check-in so not sure it was worth doing online check-in. When I booked this cruise with some trepidation because of the age of the ship, but as we entered the ship my fears were relived the ship is beautiful and very well maintained. You would never know it is as old as it is. Our cabin was ready immediately so we made our way to our cabin. We were in cabin 8502 a Family Oceanview cabin at the front of the ship. The cabin was huge! It had more than adequate space for us and all our stuff. Throughout the week our cabin steward did a great job and made some incredible towel animals that the kids loved. Everything in the cabin worked perfectly. I don’t know if it is this ship or the location of our cabin but this ship rocked and moved more than any ship I have been on.

Unbeknownst to me my sister had kindly given me some onboard credit for my birthday, they told her there would be a card waiting in our room upon our arrival. Well the "card" was just a slip of paper that was left in the room with a bunch of other stuff (i.e. jewelry brochures) and was missed for the first three days. My sister was a little perturbed by this.

Cabin Review

We were in cabin 8502 a Family Oceanview cabin at the front of the ship. The cabin was huge! It had more than adequate space for us and all our stuff. We had a king bed in a separte bedroom, two twin bunk beds in a small room and a living room with a couch and two chairs. Throughout the week our cabin steward did a great job and made some incredible towel animals that the kids loved. Everything in the cabin worked perfectly. I don’t know if it is this ship or the location of our cabin but this ship rocked and moved more than any ship I have been on
