I booked this cruise as a Birthday present for my (now fiance) then boyfriend as well as a fun way to celebrate our first Thanksgiving together. It was his first cruise and my second (other one was on Disney cruise line many years ago).

What we liked: The shows, the casino (him winning $1600 helped!), the fitness area and the cabin (decent size for a cruise ship and kept clean with the towels folded into cute little animals every day).

What ruined it for us: The food. All the days and weeks beforehand everyone told us how spectacular the food was on cruises and to expect to come back a few pounds heavier. We were shocked and disappointed in the food choices on the actual trip. Most of the time our choices were pizza (looked like microwave kind), hot dogs, tater tots and corn dogs.(all looked like stuff you buy in the frozen food section at the cheapest grocery store in town) Even in the formal dining room the choices were so limited we got up and left a few times because we didn't like either one being offered. They didn't even have turkey as an option on Thanksgiving day! When we did stay and eat our waiter seemed annoyed to have to be serving us. We explored every corner and morsel on that ship trying to find some sort of palatable food and there was none. We asked if we could have steak one night and they just flat out said no. Never did see a fancy steak that is what they advertise in the brochure. The midnight buffet had cheese and crackers on it like you would serve in a pre-school! ANd even though it was after mid-night there was preschool kids all over the place. We are not fancy people-we both work for cities and in fact my fiance works in a small town police department. The sad truth is we realized the food served in our town's jail is better than what we were stuck out in the middle of the ocean trying to eat. I could go on and on for each meal, but you get the picture. Neither one of us are large people at all and put much importance on food(were more interested in the activities), but when your out in the middle of the ocean and can't get a good meal it is very frustrating. We actually found ourselves getting snippy with each other we would get so hungry at some times. Thankfully, our relationship was able to sail past this misadventure!
