Charleston is a good port for both embarkation and debarkation. The silent, self assist debarkation is terrific, off the ship and on the road before 8AM. The cruise was very good, as usual, but I did notice a few things new this time. The big difference was in the entertainment, not much to speak of. Whatever happened to the "Broadway style" shows with the house band. On this cruise we got recorded soundtrack and not too much production. The show was okay but not up to our expectations based on past cruises. Looks like the entertainment is moving in the direction of the comedy shows. Not bad but in the lounge which was overcrowded and uncomfortable. There was only one show and a hypnotist on another night. Big disappointment all around.

The food and dining room staff were excellent as always. The bartenders couldn't be better, great martini.

The weather was not cooperative with cold, wind and rain. Actually, it was very cold, 30s and 40s, with high winds. This was the first year we had such unusually cold weather. Plenty of deck chairs though, where did all the chair hogs go?

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Cabin 6D

Room was adequate. No hooks on walls to hang things. Did not notice too much ship movement when in the cabin. Beds are lower which eliminates putting suitcase underneath. All 'n all the room is a good value.
