This was our debarkation port. We spent the day on the hop on and off bus. The city is unbelievably beautiful. We only had one day to spend there. It is on our list of places to return to for a vacation.

Barcelona

Nice. Not enough time to go in the Basilica so we walked around the perimeter and took pictures of the city. Lost sight of our guide and the bus wasn't where it was supposed to be. There were about 10 other passengers we recognized from our group who were also "lost". Not the cruise line or tour's fault, it was very busy and buses were being told to move so others could drop off and pick up.

Great excursion but this is a very strenuous excursion and we didn't prepare enough for it. I would say a couple months on the treadmill might get you in shape for it. Nice and Eze were very beautiful but the walk up to Eze is not for the faint of heart. Monte Carlo was beautiful as well but I'm not sure the walk up (and I mean up) from the port was worth seeing the Casino after walking thru Nice and Eze. A lot of fellow cruisers were looking for a bottle of water and place to sit.

The Basilica is beautiful. They do allow you to take pictures inside but it was so crowded it was hard to take pictures. We had a meeting time so we could move around on our own.

The Colosseum was awesome. The view of the ruins around the Colosseum was breathtaking. That was the highlight of our day.

Not as impressive as I thought it would be. The guards do maintain order and quiet.

St. Peter's Square was also disappointing. The pope made an appearance in the morning so most of the square was blocked off and there were huge white screens everywhere so people could get a better view of the pope. Unfortunately, the view of the Vatican and the square was obstructed.

Rome is very crowded which took away some of the pleasure of the excursion.  The Vatican museum was disappointing. There were tens of thousands of people taking a tour and you had to keep moving. You really didn't get the opportunity to stop and really look around.

The Amalfi coast drive was absolutely beautiful. It would have been better if we stopped more often to enjoy the views. I thought the Sorrento and Amalfi coast was more beautiful then the French Riviera.

Great excursion. A lot of walking but worth it. We had a chance to shop at the end of the tour. There are a lot of vendors outside Pompeii as well as shops. There was an optional cameo factory tour. It was really impressive but the cameo's are very expensive.

The cabin was bigger and nicer than most upscale hotel rooms and had a very roomy marble bathroom with bathtub/shower, two sinks and a large 2 large counters plus drawer space. Closet was adequate but there was a significant amount of drawer space thru out the cabin. Very clean and comfortable. Large balcony and very quiet. Our whole corridor was very quiet.

By the time we got back to the cabin at the end of each day, we ordered room service, took Advil and went to sleep!We did not visit the main dining room because I scheduled long excursions everyday so we ordered room service most days.
