We sailed with MSC Lirica last month on a short 4 night itinerary We have never sailed with MSC before, so decided on a short trip to try it out We boarded at Venice, and it was a relatively smooth process. On previous cruises, you queue once, and get everything done at the same time. Here, we had the initial queue to have passports and boarding passes checked, then again to hand over ...

This was our 8 cruise and the second with Msc. We choose this cruise because of the itinerary. We are a couple in our late fifties. Embarking in Venice took several houres and here they can do a better job. Stateroom. We had a suite om deck 10 and it was very nice with a good bed, lots of space, å nice bathroom and a good balcony. Everything was kept nice and clean ...

My first cruise , so wanted a short "try it out" type holiday.Embarkation, was a nightmare , 31/2 hours of queueing to get on board and very little information as to what to do and where to go next. The ship itself was ok, though lacked the grandeur of MSCs larger ships, Our cabin, an ocean view fantastica, was very nice , clean and roomy enough for the two of us, well equipped and ...

WORST CRUISE

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Lirica

Very tacky. Most of the service was terrible. This is not good value for money. There was absolutely nothing to do on the boat. My shore excursion was cancelled due to lack of people. Also there is no sports area at all so unless you’re into power walking around 2 pools then you’re out of luck. There is hardly anything in there minuscule shopping by centre. There is nothing on the TV. If I could I ...

This was our first cruise with MSC and sadly will be our last.  Getting on the ship was easy, the room was good a bit small but alright for a week. The food was excellent quality but a bit samey but then they cannot just pop out to the shops. The waiter in our restaurant was brilliant. The Entertainment was the best we have ever seen on a cruise ship, the bar staff were good but some would rather ...

Bad Food, Bad Service, Not Relaxing

The most important thing on a cruise ship should be food, drinks, service and cleanliness. Ok Ill give them the cleanliness. The room was cleaned after breakfast, mid-day and sometimes in the evening. The room and ship were very clean. Now for an Italian cruise line you would expect for the pizza and the pasta to be decent. But no! It probably was one of the worst things they offered. The food ...

We chose this cruise for several reasons: 1) The timing was perfect. 2) The ports were interesting for all ages and my wife and I had not been to any of the ports on our prior cruises. 3.) Children sharing a cabin with their parents were free. 4) We thought the variety of nationalities on the ship would be interesting for our children and grandchildren. As it turned out, we were correct in our ...

My family took the MSC Lirica on a 7 day cruise from Civitavecchia (Rome) to Genoa, Marseilles, Valencia, Tangier and Malaga that departed October 24, 2008. We are from Texas and our travels included our 17 year old son. I have taken two other cruises, the Windsurf out of Barbados in 1999 and the Carnival Triumph from Miami two weeks after 9/11/01. My wife has taken a Norwegian and a Carnival ...

Embarkation This was the strangest one that I've ever experienced. I should probably say that first of all this cruise actually commenced 3 days earlier in Copenhagen but MSC were selling it as commencing in Dover for the UK market. When I arrived at the port by taxi, I asked the driver where I should drop off my luggage and was told that it was normally just beside the entrance but it was ...

A friend and I booked this seven day cruise after examining many itineraries, prices and reviews. Since the reviews for MSC seemed mixed, I was particularly interested in how it would stack up with previous cruises. This was my 16th cruise, three of which have been in Europe. I typically cruise on either Royal Caribbean or Celebrity, but have also been on Princess, Norwegian and a couple of other ...
