Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Costa Mediterranea

We got a real good price for an inside cabin so it made the trip worth it. The ship was refurbished in 13 but already shows wear and tear. Embarkation was a pain. First they won't let you take your own luggage on the ship. You have to give it to the luggage sharks that want money to take care of it. You go through to the first line to get papers that you have already filled out online. Then you go ...

This is the third time Im writting a review here on Cruisecritic, hopefully this time the editor will finally post it. This is our 14th cruise(have done Royal Caribben, Norwegian, Carnival and Princess) and our 4th with Costa (did the Mediteranea twice before and the Concordia once) The Good: The shows were good, but short. The live music was good, but also short in duration (1 hr and then dj ...

WORST DEC. 2014 COSTA CRUISE IN 25 COSTA SAILINGS

Costa is having problems that worsen each year. Many blame Carnival since Costa became part of the Carnival Corp.; others insist Costa has tightened purse strings because of the tragic loss of Costa Concordia. We have cruised on 25 Costa sailings, mainly for their dance venues & Italian themed nights (that no longer exist as they once were). We have cruised most other major lines so do have a ...

Embarkation was at 1pm so gave us plenty of time to arrive at port. Flew in day of cruise on non-stop cruise from Montreal. We normally book way in advance of our cruise, but this time my husband came across a deal we could not pass by. 10 day cruise to the Caribbean starting in Miami with 1st stop Nassau, Bahamas followed by 5 other Caribbean ports. The Costa Mediterranea ship is in ...

Costa Holiday Cruise - Meditereanea

Please keep in mind we went into this reasonably informed with very low expectations. I'd read a few terrible recent reviews and hadn't found one good review. I hoped the ones I found were by stuffy people with high expectations. My hopes were dashed almost immediately. I cried in Cozumel (our last port) because I didn't want to get back on this horrid boat. Even at a discount this was the most ...

We booked last minute, got a very good deal, but got obstructed view veranda "guarantee". We got upgraded to an aft-facing Grand Suite with a huge wrap-around balcony, which was a very pleasant surprise. Our cabin was well-appointed and impeccably clean. It came with a number of extras. No complaints here. Another nice surprise: we were astounded with how quickly luggage was delivered to the ...

We are experienced cruisers and had cruised on Costa Atlantica previously and based upon that experience decided to book this Christmas cruise at the last minute. It was a nice ten day itinerary, good ports of calls and duration in the ports. Embarkation was breeze at 2.00 PM and self-disembarked at 7:30 AM was a breeze as well. Dining experience (vegetarian perspective) was the worst on this ...

Costa Is The Worst

This was my eight cruise and first with Costa. It will be my last. Costa caters to Europeans if you are from Canada or the us you don't get the same service. My cruise started off with Costa switching my room without my knowledge. After going to the customer service department and speaking to someone who could barely speak English. I was informed the ship was sold out and they couldn't do ...

Costa Med., THE WORST CRUISESHIP I have ever been on!

Before we got on the ship we had a wheelchair tip over in front of a crew member, they NEVER offered to help. We were greeted by a rude Italian, not one English speaking concierge in site. When we asked for help they ignored us, we were told, "It was because we were American, The Costa Med. staff are not nice to Americans" The cabin they assigned us was NOT capable to handle a handicapped wheel ...

I have taken six cruises before and thoroughly enjoyed each of them. These were on the Carnival and Princess lines beginning in 1994. We chose Costa because of its ports of call, price, and reputation. It had its good points, but over all, was a disappointment. The ship itself was kept clean and well maintained. It is a beautiful ship with many statues and pictures and proceeded through the ...
