We were here November 22 & 23, as riots were getting really heated (and deadly) in Tahrir Square. Excursions to the Museum were cancelled. What a disgusting pit. There's been no trash collection since January's revolution. (10 months). Since you have to pay taxes when you finish your building, none of the buildings are finished. DUH! For this port we used Memphis Tours and did an overnight in Cairo. Our guide was Tarek and we had the time of our lives. We felt very safe with Tarek as he was a former Egyptian bodybuilding champion. He is very knowledgeable and always protected us from being harassed by vendors. We really didn't see much of Alexandria as we had begun in Port Said, which is not on the pull-down list for some reason. We arrived at Port Said early in the morning and immediately boarded the tour bus for the 13+ hour journey of Pyramids, Saqqara, Camel & Jeep Adventure before getting back to ship in Alexandria 9:30pm.
