For my husband and I this was our the cruise and our first time sailing with NCL. Our previous 3 cruises were with recycle. I found most everything with NCL comparable with recycle and would cruise either line again in the future. Now for the details:
Embarkation: We arrived at the Port of Miami via cab around noon on Saturday. We had splurged and booked a Mini-suite. Because we were in a suite we were quickly escorted to a separate counter for check in where we were the only people in line. From that point we were escorted to get our cruise cards and then escorted directly to the ship gangway cutting in front several hundred passengers. It all went so fast I had no time to even put away our drivers licenses and birth certificates. For us we give NCL an A++ for embarkation...as for those we cut in front of.... sorry.
The Ship: immediately I noticed how elegant the sun was decorated. Faux mahogany walls everywhere setting the mood. The ship was also spotless. Sanitation is very important to them so they have set up hand sanitizer stations all over the ship and urge everyone to use them. They make you sanitize upon entering the ship at every port. I had a difficult time with the layout of the ship....I always had the recycle ships down by the first day but for the Sun some areas just didn't make sense....not that it would deter me from going on the sun again...just didn't understand the logic of the designer.
