Carnival Liberty Eastern Caribbean

Sail Date: January 2012
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

Embarkation: Kiosks don't seem to work as well as human beings. What was once a smooth, quick process has been destroyed by a redundant, impersonal mess. Over an hour to board.

Cabin: We has an inside cabin. Typically comfortable Carnival beds, flat-screen t/v, ample storage, and bar.

Dining: Dining room quality was on par with HAL of Princess, beef was even good!
Buffet was ordinary, OK. Ranchos Huevos at Blue Iguana was a good alternative to the lines in the morning. Guy's Burgers rocked! What a great addition.

Staff: Putri was fantastic as our waiter in the dining room, our room steward did an admirable job. We wanted for nothing. The entire crew was courteous and helpful.

Ports: We visited St Thomas, San Juan, and Grand Turk.

Entertainment: My wife attended most of the shows. She said they lacked the polish and professionalism of many she had seen on other ships. Band playing by casino was very good.

Disembarkation: They do a More much better job of getting you off than they do getting you on! Self assisted and was in the back seat of a cab at 7:35!

Summary: We have had nicer amenities on other lines, but we never have more fun than we do with Carnival. Less

Second ship in so we had to scramble to get 2 lounges. This is a 100% tourist trap, complete with 16 dollar margaritas, and overpriced little shops. There is virtually nothing to see on the rest of the island. However, the beach is excellent, and free! Good snorkeling along the line separating the swimming area from the cruise ships. Reasonable drinks are available down the beach to the right if you are looking at the water.

A big city. Explored "old town" a little bit.

Spent the day at Morningstar Beach. Clean and quiet with food and drinks available from beachside bar. Very short cab ride from Havensight.
