Don't listen to the curmudgeons that complain. These are the same people that complain non-stop and think they are European royalty! This was a top notch cruise! Staff was good, food was on par with the 6 other Carnival cruises I've been on in the last 7 years cruise and my favorite, the debarkation was oh so convenient! Charleston's port people work hard, not like in S. Florida at all. You can tell they appreciate the cruise industry's business, and everyone we came in contact with was courteous. Non of the holding out hands simply expecting a tip for lifting up your bag and putting it in a bin (Miami), but courteous hard working people that you WANTED to tip.

Debarkation was smooth as glass too, we had early travel plans and were one of the first off the boat, a little after 7am!

I've actually cruised on this boat before, in 2003 pre-refurbishment. Back then it could have been called Carnival/Farcus's "pinnacle" of gaudiness. It has been tastefully redone, and of the 6 carnival ships I've been on I found it to have the most pleasing decor. White marble throughout, and a minimum of neon lights etc.

Perfectly dark, couldn't be better for sleeping and other bed bound activity! Being on the Veranda deck, we did not miss a balcony because it was a few steps away to the open deck, and we prefer the darkness on vacation for blissful sleeping. Not so great for getting ready, or if you were a big bodied person, but not an issue for us.
