Sail Date: Jun 2010

The last time I went on Carnival ship was 10 years ago on Paradise. Since then we have taken many cruises in RCL, Celebrity, NCL, Princess, HAL and CUNARD but not on Carnival. Now you all know why we don't cruise on Carnival. We booked on Glory because my wife's two Aunts want to go on a short cruise to Atlantic Canada. We found good deal on a 5 day St John and Halifax Canada cruise out of New York City. Embarkation was easy, and the staff is pleasant. However the photographers held up the line. Ship itself is very pretty and nicely decorated.

Food. The buffet food was fair to good, Red sail Restaurant was always crowded. For dinner we ate in Golden restaurant main seating. According to my wife and her 2 Aunts the non- vegetarian food was OK and often lukewarm and the waiters were very indifferent. My vegetarian food provided in Golden was cold and not edible. I complained to my waiter Arya, he told me to speak to Maitre D`. Whenever I went to see him, the Maitre D` was not there. After my wife finished her dinner, often I went to Lido and ate there. We saw many people went to the reception desk and cancelled their automatic gratuity due to poor dining experience.

Our room steward Jose was awesome. Our room was always cleaned, and every day we had new towel animal presented very nicely, there were plenty of people around to help when you needed it. Entertainment. Out of 5 nights we had 3 shows at the Amber palace for early dining which was very good. Music around the bar was good to mediocre. There really was nothing very entertaining besides the comedy shows for the other 2 nights. Shore tour. We rented our car and drove to Bay of Fundy which was spectacular. In Halifax we rented a car to go to Peggy's cove which was very enchanting and Maritime Museum with original Titanic exhibits also excellent.

Cabin Review

Cabin In

Our two inside cabins are interconnected, very spacious and clean. It was above the Casino and we heard some noise during the night.
