We love the Solstice class ships. We selected this cruise due to a nice price drop and the itinerary. (The Jazz Cruise which spent two nights in New Orleans, and stops in Freeport, Key West, Costa Maya, and Cozumel).
Embarkation: Probably our worst in 25 cruises. Much of the the confusion and long lines were caused by the unusual embarkation schedule. The EQUINOX disembarked in Ft Lauderdale that morning and the did embarkation for our cruise in Miami. We thought this would cause stress and confusion and it did. Celebrity sent alerts and e mails about two weeks prior to departure to not show up until 2:3opm. Lots of passengers arrived before 1pm. We arrived around 2:15pm. Took 2 hours in line to get processed. Cameras did not work at registration, the credit card machine was not working, and the escalator was not working. Lugging luggage up 15-20 steps on the stairs was difficult. Confusion over which lines to stand in added to the confusion and stress.
After getting on board we were greeted by smiling crew and quickly went to our cabin. We had the cabin next to the hump and enjoyed the extra space on the balcony. The cabin seemed larger than normal. Our luggage arrived quickly.
