An advertisement revealed affordable prices and it seemed like it would be a fun way to experience Europe. I traveled with a good friend and we found the trip to be very enjoyable. We liked the fact that the tours at each stop were included in the price. The crew was friendly and helpful, and the food the fantastic! The boat was extremely clean and even though our room was tiny, we noted how well organized it was. There was also plenty of room in the lounge and the decks so it never seemed crowded. There were also optional informative talks onboard. I learned to make an authentic German chocolate cake. We arrived early to spend a couple of nights at Lucerne (took a train ride from Basel to Lucerne) and then after the cruise, we stayed in Amsterdam for a while. Nice! I certainly recommend Viking River Boat Cruises.
