We chose the cruise because of the itinerary and we wanted to stay on Puerto Rico for a week afterwards. The taxi from the airport to the ship was only $25 for two persons with 4 bags. We had to wait a few extra minutes to get a driver that accepted credit cards, but it wasn't that long. We got to the ship around 3pm and check in was quick and smooth. Our room was ready immediately.

After dropping off our luggage we got off the ship and went to check out the duty free shops that are on the pier. We got 4 liters of Don Q Gold for only $30! We reboarded to drop off our liquor for storage, then got off again to go into town. We walked around town for a while looking in the shops, but many were closed since it was Sunday. Lots of vendors were open selling food and crafts. We also got to listen to a live band playing music on the plaza. Picked up Don Q Cristal rum - nice and smooth.

Our cabin was on the Empress deck right next to the Atrium/bar. This was good and bad. The good part was you are close to a central part of the ship and getting anywhere from there is quick and efficient. The bad is they keep the music pretty loud until around 930-1000pm every night.
