We chose this cruise since the price was right and we, unlike most cruisers, boarded in Barbados. Most passengers boarded in Puerto Rico so we has a very easy time getting on and off at the end.

First the ship; having been spoiled on the Glory and the Splendor, the Fascination did not meet the standard we were used to. The cabin seemed smaller but everything was clean and mostly in order. The lights around the mirror would not stay on and the one of the lights in the bathroom never came on. 4 out of 5 for the cabin. The ship was clean and easy to get around because of the smaller size. The casino was never full and we had lots of fun there. The gym was nice but did not have the forward-looking view of the Glory.

Now for the service; here we often disappointed. The dining room was usually slow and the food was never hot. One night we were given pagers (I don not know ships had these!) because the line was so long. The ship appeared to be at maximum capacity and lines were normal. 15 minutes for pizza was not good service. They shows were very full with people sitting on the steps but Carnival made the Halloween night really fun and this made the cruise memorable.

Port Reviews

Barbados

Barbados was OK. Just some of the locals are not that friendly. Our taxi driver was great but expensive.

St. Lucia

Lovely island. Go to Rodney Bay for the best beach.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

We took a taxi to Friars Beach and slummed for the day.
