My wife and I sailed on the Grandeur of the seas Royal Caribbean cruise for nine nights for our 25th wedding anniversary. The ship only had six children on board which was nice in a way, however there were two thousand customers and only a hand full of people under the age of 50. The ship was clean and the room steward, waiter and assistant waiter were outstanding. The room attendant, Ricardo always kept our ice bucket filled and the room was always kept clean. The previous cruise we were on, Royal Caribbean's Freedom ship was a horrible room attendant. Never any ice, not friendly and the room was not up to par.
The excursions were decent and the price was cheaper then Caribbean ports. The Arcadia National forest tour, Kennebunkport and Boston's boat and bus tour were also good. However there was not a lot of time in Boston to see much, although we were in port for 11 hours. The port of Boston is far away from the actual city, so a bus is provided which you would pay extra for, $20 round trip per person. Not walking distance like the other ports on the cruise.
We chose my time dining because we don't like to be on a schedule for diner. We always had a table, which was usually the same all the time, and the same wait staff, The food was good but one night it was ok. Other then that, very happy with the choice and tastes of the meals provided.
boarding the ship went very smooth and no issues
another quaint town, walking distance form ship. Spent most of the time at a local Irish pub.
Not much to do in the town, walking distance from ship. Again, stayed at an Irish Pub for a bit. Have heard the Titanic experience tour was good form fellow cuisers, maybe next time.
Walked around the town, quaint village walking distance from ship.
