My wife,12 yr old son and I travelled from the uk to New York to join the ncl gem around the carribean.after spending 2 nights in New York we embarked at the cruise terminal.although it was busy and the ship was full it seemed to go smoothly although there was a small delay.the ship was in great condition and all the crew were helpful and happy.throughout the 10 days we didn't come across any problems apart from the rough sea for the first 2 days.

the food in the main dining areas was a good standard as was the buffets indoors and out.we had the ultimate drinks package which was good and my son had a soda package.we didn't encounter any problems with this and most bars had a good selection of premium drinks and beers.the entertainment was a good standard on the nights we went( jersey boys were outstanding). we also enjoyed Leo who had a varied programme of songs each day.the balcony cabin was fine although a little small for 3 people, not that we spent much time in it.our cabin steward was Felix and he was helpful and friendly.

we enjoyed st Thomas,st Maarten and Tortola very much and Puerto Rico was ok for the first stop to regain your landlegs.the only minor issue throughout the cruise was some guests inability to say the words "please" and "thankyou" to the people who were working hard in the bars and restaurants.overall,we thoroughly enjoyed the cruise and would definitely use ncl again.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BC

Cabin was comfortable with enough wardrobe space for 3.tv channels were limited although we enjoyed the sports channel where we could watch football and golf.bed was very comfortable and the sofa bed was fine for my 12 yr old son .although it did restrict access to the balcony it was easy enough to move.
