Recently enjoyed a 10 night cruise out of NYC to Eastern Caribbean. It was super easy to get to the ship from NJ. We decided to take a car service (round trip $220) instead of parking for the discounted port parking rate of $300. We waited until disembarkation to hire a car to get back home and many cars were readily available across the street from the port.

We were traveling with two children; 11 & 13. Our teen loved making friends and doing the teen club activities.

We have traveled on the Gem before two times. We liked the renovations of the public space and our mini-suite cabin. We were a bit disappointed in the size of the 'mini-suite', it seemed no larger or more luxurious than other balcony cabins on other ships we have sailed. Besides that it had everything you needed and was well maintained by Edwin our cabin steward.
