I have waited a month after the River Cruise to write my review so that I would look at it more abjectly and also to see how Viking would respond to my comments. So far I am still waiting but feel I can comment now with a clearer view.

Don't even think about booking an Explorer Suite "the most spacious accommodation on any river cruise", if you think that by paying exactly the same as an Atlantic Crossing on the QM2 in the Queens Grill Suites with Butler and it's own dining room that you are going to be anywhere near that level of service or quality. That is what we expected and we were sadly disappointed. Don't be fooled by their wonderful marketing and Explorer Suite experience.

The Explorer Suite's are situated at the back of the boat above the engines and the noise and reverberation was so bad we could not sleep properly the whole trip. The Captain confirmed that going against the flow of the river and the low depth of the water manifests this. We couldn't be moved as the boat was full.
