We embarked on our first cruise on the Norwegian Cruise Lines on the Epic from Barcelona for a 7 night Mediterranean cruise.Check in was seamless and we were greeted warmly by our cabin steward. However our balcony cabin room was cluttered with very little room to move around. My wash basin was at the foot of my bed and the toilet and bathroom were on the left and right as you entered the room with frosted curved glass doors and very little privacy! My main complaint was how money orientated this cruise was and in particular having purchased several albums onboard I simply asked if I could charge my camera battery and was told that I could purchase a charger for 30 dollars! I was incensed at this as there was no offer to ask a manager as I was a good customer just a request for 30 dollars. I returned my albums and informed them that I would be making a complaint.

Everywhere you went the staff were trying to make you part with your money; the spa,on excursions when often museums were closed and we weren't informed and the ultimate beverage package where often the staff tried to make us buy more expensive drinks which were extra to the package. The linen wasn't changed for the whole week and during the cruise the paint work was updated outside our balcony resulting in paint chips all over the balcony and the resultant noise. Many of the cruise passengers who we met were of the same opinion and needless to say we're not booking another NCL cruise.

Too cramped with a wash basin at the bottom of the bed and two small cubicles for a toilet and shower.
