Sail Date: Jun 2015
Cabin: Mini-Suite with Large Balcony

BackGround: My partner and I are Norwegian Cruise Line Gold members. Having sailed on numerous Norwegian cruise ships as well as many others. So we are very experienced cruisers.

Embarkation: Used MJC transportation services to go from FortLauderdale airport to the port of Miami. Arrived at the port at 1PM. Had no problem obtaining a porter. Walked in the terminal after security and was directed to the gold member line which had no one in it. So we walked rite up and checked in. Our Room was #9796 mini suite. After that we went through the usual picture taking before boarding.

Cabin: A big disappointment. The cabin was big enough. The bathroom was the only difference I could tell from a regular balcony cabin. It had dual sinks and a bigger sized shower. The floor tiles in the shower were cracked near the drain. The balcony was the smallest one I had ever seen on any cruise ship. So small the chairs had to be kept sideways because you couldn't turn them to face outward. Also the view to the ocean was blocked by the white ceiling of the waterfront area on deck 8. This was not told to us and the cabin was not listed as having blocked views. We complained to guest services and requested to be moved. NCL says its not blocked if you can see the ocean looking straight out from the balcony. We were told after several hours that the cruise was booked but they would keep us notified if anything changed. On Sunday night a mini suite on deck 8 became available #8126 with a large balcony. We moved into it the next day. This time the balcony was much larger with two lounge chairs, table with two chairs. No blocked views. However the tiles were cracked in the shower. Not sure what caused this. We also received wine, chocolate covered strawberries from guest servies for our inconviences.
