This was our fifth cruise, the first on Norwegian. We travel extensively, but are appreciative of a good deal and the Norwegian Getaway satisfied all of our needs. We took advantage of the special dining package and ate at a specialty restaurant every night except the first. All of the restaurants were top notch. We especially liked The Bistro and Teppanyaki, although we were a little annoyed when our reservations at Teppanyaki were in effect cancelled by other reservations not showing up. We had to wait for other people to show up and fill up our table and after a half our, the newcomers were catered to while we stewed over possibly missing our evening entertainment, which also had to be reserved in advance. All was taken care of, and our incredible chef prepared delectable filet mignon and scallops in record time. (The best food on the cruise!)

We took advantage of all of the entertainment offered. Every night we did something different, and I recommend that all shows be reserved as soon as possible after embarkation so you can fit it all in .The best thing is to try and book your specialty restaurants on line before the cruise, then match up the shows based on the times that work with your mealtimes. We loved the Illusionarium. Get floor seats so you can see better. It is free on the first day, so book immediately. Legally Blonde, Burn the Floor, Howl at the Moon, and the comedians all were fantastic.

The ship was very nicely decorated. The service everywhere was very good, and every one was smiling and friendly. There were Purell dispensers everywhere and employees with sanitizing spray bottles manning the buffet areas so that no one would spread germs. Read more
