We arrived in New York from Atlanta the day before embarkation, we were met at LGA by a prearranged service and driven to our hotel in the Chelsea district, having enough time to walk around and see the sights of the area. Next morning the same service picked us up and took us to the ship, we allowed plenty of time for traffic. We arrived at the Brooklyn terminal at 11 am and breezed through the embarkation process. Very pleased with the ease of this embarkation port. Upon entering the ship we were directed to our cabin on the all mini suite deck 9. Our room was fantastic, one almost king bed for my wife and I and a sofa bed for our son. We had a wonderful balcony that wasn't covered so we could enjoy the sun. We loved the fact that while docked in N.Y. we were able to see the Statue of Liberty and the Staten Island ferries as well as Governors Island from our balcony. That evening we dined at Sabatini's, one of the specialty spots on the ship. We were treated unexpectedly to a magnificent 25 course meal which took almost three hours to enjoy. Earlier in the day we signed our son up for the Remix teen program. After dinner he was geared up for some fun so we escorted him the the teen area located high up on the rear of the ship.. They had everything a 14 year old could want. Over the rest of the cruise the teens did everything from dodgeball to Wii, he had a blast, some nights staying until 1 am. The following day at sea it rained and was quite rough with 7 - 9 foot seas but, this ship is almost 1000 ft long and had only a gentle roll. We actually found it to be relaxing. We spent the day at sea touring this magnificent ship checking out were we would spend our time while our son was at the teen club at night.. Many lounges and night clubs to choose from. We finally settle down with our regular after dinner lounge called the Wheelhouse, which has a wonderful wine list. Most evenings we would settle onto our regular couch area with a bottle of wine and listen to the dance bands. At the wheelhouse we met the finest server we had experienced anywhere. He entertained us every night with info on his homeland and various things of interest. His service was so good that we gave him additional cash every evening as well as the regular gratuity. After the first evening we made 6 pm reservations alternately at he Coral or Palms dining room. The food was absolutely gourmet, and our regular waiter that we requested was fantastic. NOTE: If you choose anytime dining as we did, be sure to make reservations or you'll face long waits. You can do this only one day ahead of time so you'll be calling every morning for the next night. We usually ate breakfast in the coral dining room which had wonderful selections, with an occasional stop at Horizons court buffet. Lunch was alternated between all venues, from the poolside pizza(really good), coral dining, and the buffet. Not a bad meal at any time. We enjoyed our ports of call, however we did notsign up for any shore excursions, preferring to explore on our own and the return to the ship to enjoy poolside activities. Our favorite stop was Grand Turk with it's amazing beaches and crystal waters, the others ports offered some wonderful sights and shopping. The ship itself is magnificent. Princess prides itself on cleanliness and newness, and this ship certainly fit the bill. Every day our cabin was spotless. All of the great areas are fabulously clean and maintained. Another feature of pride is the crew and staff, in our opinion the best on any ship. Al in all this was a wonderful cruise that we will enjoy again. We can see how so many people take this cruise 4 and five times back to back, we hated to have it end!
