This was our 10th cruise, but the first with Princess and we LOVED it!!!

We made our own Airline and transfer plans and it all went smoothly. Our plane arrived in NY at 9:20 so we were kind of early, but we decided to just go to the ship terminal and wait. We arrived there at approximately 10:30 and there were tons of people still disembarking the ship. We were directed to the luggage drop off area, they took our bags and we were directed inside. There was already a line forming and I thought "Oh this is going to be a long uncomfortable wait. However we only waiting in the line maybe 10 - 15 minutes and they started letting us in. In maybe 2 minutes we were check in. Then we were directed to a large air conditioned room with plenty of chairs. When we checked in they gave us a number. So it really didn't matter were you sit because they call the number you are given and you go in as a group. They started calling the numbers at 12:00. They process was a smooth as could be. We stayed in a premium suite (also a first) and it was great!!! We had two sliding doors that went out to the balcony and the bathroom was divided into two rooms. One room was the toilet and sink and the other room has a nice shower and a whirlpool tub. That was great because we have a 15 y/o daughter and it made it so much easier when we were getting ready for dinner because if someone was in the shower or tub someone else could use the toilet or use the sink to get ready. The first day was at sea and we were heading for Bermuda. In all of my cruises I had never gotten sea sick but I did that day. I don't know if it was choppier than normal or not, but heading out the Atlantic was rough. I was OK if I sat or laid, but if I walked, it was bad. That was the only day that is was like that thought (thank goodness). So day 3 we were in Bermuda. We took an excursion to St George. It was OK but the weather was gloomy so that made it not quite so pleasant. The pink sand beaches were neat. Had never seen that before. Next day was at sea. The Caribbean Princess is a great ship. The staff are exceptional!!!!!. Loved the huge screen by the pool for watching movies. We watched several over the 9 days. There are 4 pools. One on the aft for adults only, a small one for small children, the one with the Huge movie screen and another one where they play a lot of games, like hairy leg contest and such. The Food is also wonderful. The buffet is I'd say pretty comparable to other ship we've been on but I thought the dinners in the dining rooms were exceptional. Next we were in San Juan. There we did an excursion that was not through the cruise line. I found it on line at Segwaytourspr.com. It was our favorite excursion. There office was right next to the pier were we were docked. The largest group they can take is 5, so you get personal attention. The owner was SO NICE and informative. And the Segways were SO MUCH FUN. We all loved they. At first I thought they might be hard to do, but after you get the feel for them they are very easy. I would recommend them to everyone. But check out there web site because you have to be a certain age and weight to do it. After that was over we just walked around some on our own. Old San Juan is very neat. It looks alot like Barcelona or New Orleans. Then were were at St Thomas. We took and excursion to Trunk Bay. All I can say is BEAUTIFUL!!! Lastly we went to Grand Turk. There is shopping and a pool free to cruisers just right off of the ship. We did a power snorkeling excursion. If was a lot of fun. I have snorkeled in locations with more fish, but it was good. Saw a stingray. Last 2 says were at sea again and the bad sea didn't repeat. Someone said it was because we were sailing closer to shore on the return.

They have a children's program and and teens program for ages 13-17. Our daughter is 15 and kind of shy. I encouraged her to try it which she did, but it wasn't her cup of tea. She just chose to stay with us. But she says this was her favorite cruise ever!! She loved the ship and "loved, loved, loved the people so much" (the staff). They gave her extra attention. In fact she is driving me crazy to go again. She didn't want to leave, she just wanted to stay on for another cruise. Also the shows were good. I don't know if I would say they were better than anyone else's, but they were good. Only complaints: The theater is not large enough. So you have to arrive at least 30 minutes before the show begins to get seats. And our suite so nice, I hate to even complain, but there was a large pole just outside of one of the sliding glass doors, so it obstructed the view. Suite C751. But if you want a suite and this is the only one left. It's still a great room. And they give you perks with suits. They brought us corsages on the first formal night. The first 2 night they delivered appetizers to the room in the afternoon. There was a fresh tropical flower arrangement in the room upon arrival, they do you laundry for free so you can pack lighter and the internet is free. Finally there is a special lounge provided with pastries and coffee while waiting for your luggage tag color to disembark. Disembarking was the smoothed we had ever experienced. So easy and so fast.

Cabin Review

Cabin PH

Large walk in closet, toilet and sink in separate room, whirlpool tub and a separate shower, two sliding glass doors, on the Aft, lots of space for storage, a pole obstructing the view at sliding glass door by the bed.
