Some Background: We are a group of four ladies, (averaging around 50 years old), who try to get together and cruise at least once a year.

Galveston Embarkation: We drove down to Galveston and arrived very early Saturday. It was raining so hard in Galveston when we arrived, the streets had standing water that was 2 feet deep in some spots. Since we were in Galveston early, we braved the rain to check out the "Strand" area. This is a quaint section of town with boutiques and art galleries. It is walking distance from the dock, so if you arrive early (and the weather is nice), it could be a good way to spend an hour or so. Because of the rain, we only visited a few shops, but enjoyed ourselves no the less.

Embarkation was very smooth. Maybe we just arrived at the right time, but we were on the ship very quickly, and our luggage was waiting for us in our cabin. The only embarkation problem we had was one of our room keys was not activated properly, and we had to go to the pursers desk to get it working properly.
