The only reason I booked this ship was because it was 7 nights out of Tampa. I didn't expect much. First, let me tell you about the port - it is small and very easy to drive to. Not the least bit intimidating as some tend to be. Everything moved very smoothly. Would gladly sail out of here again if the right cruise is available. We dropped off our luggage and passengers then parked offsite as it was much cheaper.
When I first got on the ship, I wasn't impressed but as the week went by, it looked better everyday. It was an easy ship to learn and the only time it was crowded was in the Centrum. There is always something going on in the Centrum (deck 4) and very few chairs. Our room, 4560, was on the same deck and was so convenient; I loved our location. Besides, everything is located on deck 4, 5 & 6. Those people who had their rooms close to the Centrum door couldn't have been happy at all. I would think it was very noisy with people going in and out and the music coming from the Centrum itself. My sister was in 4568 and I wouldn't suggest anything closer (higher)than that.
Our steward, Donna, was fantastic and eager to please.
G1 is identical. This was an excellent choice. the room is large (for a cruise) and the location was perfect. Very convenient to the Centrum. Our steward Donna was eager to please. When I asked her to change the comforter for a blanket - no problem. Upon request, we had fresh ice every morning and evening. The sheets have the feel of silk almost. The room itself had a loveseat and table, a vanity with 6 drawers plus cabinets on top, hair dryer and 2 nightstands with 2 drawers each. The closet was decent but had no shelves. The TV was small. There is no refrigerator and no room for one either. Also there are no toiletries except bar soap tho Donna told us we could request them from her. We did the western and this room had no view other than water. The bathroom is typical in size with a shower curtain. Lots of shelves.
