OK, we like to think of ourselves as fairly normal folks (who doesn't.) We have taken 10 cruises, this being the first on NCL, and have enjoyed them all. But for some reason we were bored at times on this cruise. Yes, in the evening they offer one thousand things to do, but most did not hold our interest. Events were well attended so, again, maybe it's us. We did thoroughly enjoy Howl at the Moon and SugarBlue.

Most of the pros and cons of previous reviews we agree with so we will spare you a rehash. We can not write a review without noting the exceptional cleanliness of the ship and the universal hospitality of the crew.

We did find the specialty dining of the Getaway to be well below the standard of the specialty dining of our other cruises (RCI, X, DIS.) We did have lovely meals at Cagney's and Le Bistro, but just not exceptional, more on par with MDR dining (on a good night) on one of the other lines. The meal we had at La Cucina, except for the delicious desserts, we could have had at Olive Garden, in our opinion. Moderno was inconsistent, with several offerings overdone. I think they are perhaps trying to do too much in terms of "specialty dining" instead of offering one or two restaurants that really get it right.
