Let me start by saying, I read all the reviews on here before sailing. The negative reviews had me about ready to cancel! I am SO glad we didn't!!

My husband and I have been on Carnival and Celebrity. We took the kids on a Disney Cruise last year and were holding that standard against the Getaway. An unfair comparison I assumed. A direct quote from my children ages 9 and 12 "this cruise is WAY better than the Disney!" I agreed...

Our room: We were in a window room on the 5th floor. I get sea sick and like to stay low in the ship. We LOVED our room! Room number 5152. It was forward and close to everything! We just hopped on the elevator and we were on the right side of the ship for everything we needed! Down one flight of stairs and we were off the boat! Splash Academy and O' Sheahens were right above us! Room was tight, but aren't they all? The bathroom had double sinks and was very clean. Yes, storage is lacking, but if you get creative, you can find a place for everything. Tip: ask the steward to empty the wet bar as soon as you get there. It is stocked. We brought our own soda and water. We kept a hotel room key in the power card slot all week. Our steward never removed it. One odd thing was that our bathroom didn't have any washcloths stocked. Odd because they have a soap dispenser in the shower, not a bar which I really liked, but provide washcloths! I mentioned it to our steward and we had fresh washcloths the rest of the week!!
