Just thought others should know what we experienced during this 5 night trip on the Liberty of the Seas just last week. AWFUL service from the staff all around, the ship was filthy with not even an appearance of staff trying to clean up, the ship is dated and used (the mini-golf grass area/lighting is worn through and broken), etc... This is our 4th cruise on RC - Liberty was our first cruise 5 years ago and we were WOWd at that time so we planned a FAMILY vacation with our two children & spouses & grandkids for a total of 4 rooms (it was our kids first cruise and probably sadly their last). From start to finish it was a horrible trip - 3+ hour wait in the cold while apparently the ship was being de-trashed from a heavy metal band who chartered it (of course when we booked the trip a year ago we were not told this or I would not have booked) to an unclean environment getting on the ship to poor service by the staff (the staff seemed completely disinterested in the guests and I overheard some of them and they were actually BAD MOUTHING the guests and laughing about it), to poor kids programs (the weather was bad but RC did nothing to bring excitement inside for kids or adults - no decent time 3D movie, repetitive kids movies on tv and NO in room DVD players for us to show our own movies, the kids program in general was LAME at best - my grandkids (6 & 9) were not thrilled, trash under our beds, black goo running down our bathroom wall, our balcony absolutely filthy with food, dried liquid, hair, etc.... Then we debarked from the ship passing what smelled like RAW sewage and more long lines only to enter into a holding area where customs was that had no floor coverings, the walls were tattered & unattractive, more filth, etc... My grandson (6) and I came away with the H1N1 Flu. This was absolutely a pitiful experience from Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and what is sad is that they probably don't care. Dry dock the ship and really do an upgrade (the website claims that Liberty has undergone an upgrade but if so I am not sure where).

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

Deck 8 - 4 rooms FILTHY at best. Beds completely uncomfortable even after bringing our own egg shell topper. NO mattress pad or cover to ensure that bed bugs would not be an issue.
