Being a seasoned cruiser and Diamond Crown and Anchor, we've had varied experiences boarding a ship. Living on the west coast of FL allows us to drive over to the ports. Arriving to the check-point of Lauderdale was a breeze but what occurred after was a cluster of traffic with mounting tempers. Traffic just didn't move. Took us over an hour from the check-point to drop off luggage. Then the turnaround to get into the parking garage was another slow process. The closer we walked to the terminal, the longer the line wound back and forth. Luckily we were able to get into the priority area with a short line.

Told there were heavy metal bands and fan themed group on the previous cruise and RCI had issues getting some of the passengers off the ship. We heard the police had to be called to remove the last of them about 1 PM. When we finally boarded, it was apparent there were repairs to be made and stage equipment to be removed from the ship. One door from pool area into Windjammer was never working entire cruise. Some buttons on elevators didn't light up.

Luckily we were told the suites had not been opened to the heavy metal passengers, so our Grand Suite was in good shape. The king-sized bed is lovely, lots of storage enough for a 14 night cruise, the bathroom with double sinks was great, and the balcony held a round table, 2 chairs and 2 padded full lounges.

Grand Suite

Cabin GS

Suite located under just aft of whirlpool in Solarium area so moving of deck chairs not heard. But, near to pool so during afternoon when pool games, bands play and bingo is being held, you will hear activity even with your doors closed. Not too close to either elevator so halls are quiet. Kenta was our suite attendant and she was friendly, efficient. The bathroom mirrors need to be replaced as the years of moisture show wear. The shower is very difficult to get into as the tub is high. Storage is plentiful. Three full-length mirrored cabinets and so many drawers, not sure passengers could fill them all. Nice lighted make-up mirror and mirrored doors can be adjusted to see back of head.
