This was our 3rd Disney cruise and it did not disappoint! After sailing on the Magic last year we were excited to see how she looked with her new renovations done in the fall. Coming back to the ship, she felt like home yet had some new "bonus" features that we got to love about her too.

FOOD: The food was amazing as always! Love the new buffet area, Cabanas! The theming is lively and it seems more spacious. Love that you can now get Mickey Pretzels and Shawarma by the pool deck. The soft serve station has been expanded so there are now more flavors to choose from. The pomegranate lemonade at the drink station is to die for, so delicious! One of the best foods is the flour less chocolate cake. You can find it in the Cove Cafe along with other desserts for free of charge! Animator's Palate is much improved over the old version, yet the menu stayed the same. Would have liked to see some more menu variety. As for Carioca's, the theming was uninspiring and I found myself missing Parrot Cay. The menu was one of the worst as it relayed too much on serving South American cuisine.

POOLS/SLIDES: The 2 news slides are wonderful additions! The Twist and Spout was the better addition. The slide is a slower pace, so anyone can ride from adults to small children. This seemed to be the more popular slide. The other slide is the Aquadunk and contains a vertical drop. This slide is also very fun but seemed to be less popular because it's more for a daredevil's enjoyment.

ENTERTAINMENT: The shows on the Magic remain unchanged. These shows have been around for years and I know all repeat cruisers are dying for some new shows. The shows are brilliant but need to be changed more often. This also applies to the activities on board. The cruise staff team was amazing and we had so much fun interacting with Joshie, Melanie, Frankie, and Maroly. Though the family friendly activities were lots of fun, new programs and games need to be developed. As for the pirate party, we're glad it's unchanged and love the Mickey story line! It's so much better than the Jack Sparrow show they offer on the newer ships.

PORTS: We didn't get off in Nassau. Not a very clean or safe port. I wish Disney would stop tendering there. Castaway Cay was amazing as always. Disney does a great job of beautifying the island.

Overall we enjoyed the Magic. We found that her renovations aren't very large and the ship still feels the same. Only the public areas were changed, everything else remained the same. Not everything was perfect, there was some rusty places, some sewage problems, you get the idea. She's a 15 year old ship, that's somewhat evident, but for the most part she's a gem! The Magic is the best ship in the Disney fleet, don't be scared away by her age. The Magic and her sister ship, the Wonder, are the best! Much better than the newer ships due to their smaller size. On the smaller ships the service is more personable and everything feels less crowded. The Magic: after 15 years she's still got a lot of love to give and has captured my heart.
