This was a disappointment in many areas.
Pros. The stateroom staff and many of the restaurant staff were friendly, helpful, and even after working long hours seemed fresh and anxious to help. The gym facilities were modern and spacious considering we were on a cruise ship. Room service although limited menu was fast and hot.
The steak house restaurant(although you had to pay a flat fee of around $30 to go there) was excellent. Service there was great too.
We had one of the smaller suites and the climate control worked wonderfully with a comfortable bed and pillows
Cons. Jamie the “tour director” as she called herself several times a day on the intercom was just plain annoying. She read her canned speeches so quickly and so loud that it was impossible to understand her. When it came time to disembark you could understand her for the first time on the cruise, maybe because she wasn’t reading the same spiel.
For a ship that reportedly had a makeover last year including new elevators several of the elevator floor lights were burned out.
The exact same food was served for breakfast every single day in every place serving breakfast and the evening buffet food was not much more imaginative.
The sushi restaurant was not good. The food lacked taste and resembled ground fish rather than actual Sushi.
Maybe my biggest problem was I wasn’t on a Celebrity cruise line where we have been so pleased with everything including entertainment. I will never sail on Carnival again even for free.
