This was my wife and I's second cruise (both with Carnival) with the previous cruise being on the Carnival Conquest. We were a little worried that we would not enjoy an older, and significantly smaller ship as much as we did the Conquest. We were very pleasantly surprised!

EMBARKATION This was a very smooth process. We arrived at the port by vehicle around 11:30 AM and were having lunch on the Lido deck by 12:30. Ours was the only ship in port so traffic was minimal and embarkation was a breeze. We drove to the port, dropped off our luggage which was later delivered to our room, parked the car (with a $50 parking fee per vehicle) and caught a shuttle back to the port. No trouble at all! Shortly before sailing, a mandatory drill is conducted requiring every passenger to wear their lifevest and proceed to their muster stations. This took about 30 minutes but could have been worse!

STATEROOM My wife and I took our honeymoon on the Carnival Conquest and sprung for a balcony room but, as this was planned on much shorter notice and the fact that we are college students on a budget, we decided to book an interior room for the Ecstacy. I was a little worried that I would be displeased with our stateroom in comparison with the balcony room. However, we had plenty of room for all of our luggage and the bed was extremely comfortable! Every stateroom is equipped with flat-screen televisions as well with plenty of new movies such as Click, Flight Plan, Cheaper By The Dozen 2, Just Friends, and Madagascar. The bathroom was no smaller than ours was in our balcony stateroom with the shower being equipped with soap and shampoo. Complimentary sample packets of lotion, moisturizer, etc. were also in our stateroom. Upon arrival, our steward, Navin, introduced himself and informed us of his hours. He was amazing! Every night, our sheets were turned down for us and we had friendly towel animals waiting for us! He even helped make the best use of our space by placing our empty suitcases under our bed for us rather than against the wall!
