We spent 12 days cruising the Mediterranean with 8 port stops and 4 sea days. This was our first cruise so we don't have any benchmarks to compare to. Overall we were very happy with the ship and our cruise so we thought we would just make a note of some things Celebrity can improve on and some pointers for future travellers.
Staterooms were great with ample space to unpack. We had a balcony and I would never travel without one. The service generally was very good. The room is checked and cleaned at least twice a day and there are lots of activities and things to do on the ship. We were in Aqua class which gave us added benefits to the Persian Gardens and Blu restaurant.
An excellent fitness centre was well equipped with the latest machines. The Spa and associated treatments were great but quite expensive.
Finding a drinks waiter was often difficult which meant going to the bar yourself.
The food is More
extremely plentiful and always available, however, we would have preferred to have experienced local Mediterranean cuisine (especially when visiting different ports) rather than some unorthodox American interpretations of traditional dishes. For example the salad nicoise bore little resemblance to anything we have seen or tasted before.
The food in Blu was mostly delicious and well presented however on the first day we had a very poor dish which left a question mark as to its consistency throughout the cruise.
While there were plenty of deck chairs around the ship getting one around the pool was often difficult and the old trick of reserving sunbeds was used resulting in us managing to secure one for a single day only.
The pools were extremely small and inadequate for the number of passengers. Less
