Is a family vacation really a vacation? Aboard the Carnival Pride it actually is! My husband and I have been on several Carnival cruises prior to this vacation and I don't recall ever having any issues. Embarkation was pretty easy. We had a balcony room, was spacious enough and kept very clean by steward. We had a room that had an adjoining door to another cabin....could hear every single word they were saying easily. Was like having a curtain, not a door.

Older and smaller ship, but spacious staterooms. Service was not as good as on other ships. When we went to lunch after boarding, there were so many dirty tables in the buffet area that stayed there the whole time we were eating. Scheduled a somewhat last minute cruise (about 5 weeks). Chose this cruise based on rates, ports, and knew the ship was recently refurbished.
Flew into Tampa a day ahead and stayed at the Hampton Inn, Ybor City. $25 flat rate cab from airport. Would highly recommend for pre-cruise. Free shuttle to terminal.
Arrived at the Cruise Terminal about 1:30. We were in our cabin by about 2:15.
